Serve local files with node.js HTTP server

Prototyping an idea in HTML and JavaScript always leds me to some structure like index.html and app.js which can be opened and viewed local in the browser.
But opening a file via the ´file://´ -scheme causes some problems due to security policies.

The simplest solution for me is to use a HTTP server built with node.js which serves my local files on localhost:8080.
The installation is kinda simple via NPM:

$ [sudo] npm install -g http-server

If the installations succeeds, you can go into the directory you want to serve and simple enter http-server which will immediatly start the server.
